Bred from an early age on Nancy Drew novels, I originally planned to pursue a career in law enforcement. But my love of books led me on a different path and now the only crimes I solve are on the page.

I began my career in the subsidiary rights department of what is now Hachette Book Group, but quickly switched to the editorial side, eventually overseeing Grand Central Publishing’s legendary (although now defunct) Mysterious Press. There, I worked with many amazing authors, including such luminaries as M. C. Beaton, Lindsey Davis, Margaret Maron, and Marcia Muller.

I most recently worked as a senior editor for Penguin’s New American Library (NAL), where I helped launch Obsidian, their dedicated mystery imprint. Besides running the day-to-day operations of Obsidian, I edited approximately 30 original titles per year. I was also in charge of NAL’s movie/television tie-in program and edited numerous original novels based on TV programs such as Burn Notice, The Unit, Criminal Minds, and Psych.

I earned a Master’s in Publishing from Pace University and have spoken extensively on the art of writing at well-respected writing conferences and workshops.

I’ve helped my freelance clients land agents, secure deals with publishing houses from big to small (including 6-figure deals!), and publish independently quite successfully, winning awards and hitting bestseller lists. Whatever your goal, my support and advice doesn’t end after your manuscript is edited. I aim to help you make all of your writing dreams come true. Don’t just take my word for it, I’ll let the books I’ve worked on and the praise I’ve received from authors and agents speak for themselves.
