Developmental
Editing
A developmental edit addresses the overall structure and organization
of a manuscript. I provide a very extensive editorial letter that lays out the
basic areas in which a manuscript might be improved backed up by specific page
by page notes, laying out a road map that can be followed. "Being edited" is not
as scary as it sounds - my notes are always positive and diplomatic and my goal
is to help an author push their own words out even further while keeping their
overall vision intact.
Query Letter Critique
One
cannot underestimate the power of a query letter. While critiquing the corresponding
query letter is a service I provide for any manuscript that I edit, I will also
critique query letters on their own for a fee of $25. I have looked at thousands
of submissions over my career as an in-house editor, and I can tell you exactly
